Legal requirements for heat supply
The German government attaches great importance to heat supply. The coalition agreement provides for the promotion of public and private investment in heating networks. Federal funding for efficient heating networks (BEW) will be regulated by law and expanded. The use of waste heat and requirements from the Building Energy Act (GEG) will be given greater consideration in municipal heat planning. In addition, the AVBFernwärmeV and WärmeLV will be amended. Price supervision and arbitration bodies will ensure greater transparency and consumer protection in future. The BDEW Info Day will bring you up to date.

Electricity storage in current energy law
Electricity storage facilities are playing an increasingly important role in the electricity market. Legislators are seeking to expand them for a variety of reasons. However, there is still no systematic integration of the relevant regulations in energy industry law for storage facility operation and construction. The seminar covers all current legal aspects from the construction to the operation of electricity storage facilities. It deals with concepts ranging from primary control power to self-supply from home storage facilities.

Realising energy projects: Opportunities for co-operation with municipalities
The legal course should be set early on for the realisation of energy projects in a municipal context. Cooperation between municipalities and project developers is more important than ever, but at the same time it is also characterised by a large number of legal restrictions. The tension between budgetary, procurement and criminal law as well as the high time factor in project development - for example in the case of energy projects or complex projects such as server farms - increases the complexity of such a process. In order to successfully realise projects, planners must be familiar with the legal framework. In this course, lawyer Dr Florian Brahms from the law firm BRAHMS NEBEL & KOLLEGEN demonstrates the legal framework within which local authorities and project developers can operate. Based on his many years of experience in energy law, he will provide concrete tips on which concepts have proven successful in implementation and where stumbling blocks lurk. This course is aimed at project developers, municipal decision-makers and planners who want to implement energy projects with legal certainty.

Legal basis for contracting with heat pumps
According to policy makers, heat pumps are a key component of the heating transition. In combination with renewable energy systems, the climate targets are to be achieved, with both decentralised generation plants and the conclusion of power purchase agreements (PPAs) contributing to implementation. At the same time, the use of fossil fuels is becoming less interesting as they have not proven to be crisis-proof. Through the Fuel Emissions Trading Act (BEHG) and the CO2 Cost Allocation Act, the legislator has also taken the initiative to promote the sustainable supply of heat and hot water.

CHP in contracting – legal framework
In this seminar block, we will look at the legal basis for the use of CHP units. What requirements from the EEG, KWKG, EnWG and other laws must be observed? What are the basic framework conditions for the supply of electricity and heat from CHP plants? What contracting models are there and what do you need to bear in mind? How should energy supply contracts be structured and what model contracts are available? You will receive answers to these and many other questions in this seminar. Extension of the KWKG – consequences for practice and heat planning
CHP plants are an important pillar of the electricity system based on renewable energies in particular. However, the extension of the KWKG until 31 December 2030 is also an important step for the regenerative heat supply. Contracting providers have been using innovative CHP solutions in the neighbourhood context for years in order to meet the heating and electricity needs of tenants in a highly efficient manner. What impact will the extension of the KWKG have on existing and new heat supply solutions - also with regard to heat planning?
