Dr Schneller has been a qualified lawyer since 1998 and has worked in the energy sector ever since. He has held various management positions within the E.ON Group and at the transmission system operator TenneT. At TenneT, his responsibilities included the Onshore Grid Expansion department in Germany, the Public Affairs department and, most recently, the Group Legal department in the Netherlands for several years.

Since 2020, Dr Schneller has been practising as a solicitor in the field of energy law and grid regulation. His advisory work focuses on issues relating to grid connection and grid access, as well as supporting data centre and grid infrastructure projects. Dr Schneller also has extensive experience in the areas of energy policy and strategy development, as well as media and public relations.

Dr Schneller holds a PhD in public planning law and an Executive MBA (INSEAD). He publishes articles on German and European energy law in specialist legal journals and is a member of the academic advisory board of EnergieRecht – Zeitschrift für die gesamte Energierechtspraxis. Since 2021, he has held a teaching post in climate protection law at the University of Bayreuth.
